the left behinds
the left behinds are photographs I take — usually with my phone — while out and about. I think of them as urban archaeology, the spontaneous study of human activity and culture through materials unintentionally lost. Some of the left behinds are head scratching (a wheelchair), others make me feel bad for the person who lost them (a prescribed medication) or are echoes of what once was (a hotel facade). All items are shot in situ — I photograph the left behinds just as I happen upon them.
